People spend more than one-third of their life at work. Imagine it's a fulfilling place that people want to work. What is it like?

Research shows that people are fulfilled at work when they are appreciated for who they are, know what is expected, and given a fair opportunity to succeed.

When your workplace is fulfilling and works for your employees, think about what that will mean for your business. Studies find that people are more productive when they are more fulfilled in their work.

How

Strong HR policies: Make it clear what’s expected, that doing the right thing is a priority for everyone, and that you’ve invested in ensuring it happens.

Innovative HR processes: Create adaptable organizations with various methods to transparently communicate with employees about where they are and where they are going.

Inclusive practices: Welcome all your employees for who they are and enable them to thrive; demonstrate your commitment to listening to your employees’ experiences, investigating misconduct, and providing a safe, fair workplace.

Why

Increased productivity: Studies find that people seek out companies with a good atmosphere and are more productive when they are there.

Greater employee retention: Workers create exit strategies for places with a bad atmosphere and are even willing to move to a role paying less or with a lower title if the atmosphere is better.

Stronger risk management: Workers will experience less bullying, harassment and discrimination and trust you enough to raise the issues to be addressed when they do.
